Excellent Teachers
The purpose of appointing Excellent Teachers at the Faculty of Law is to reward their teaching expertise. According to the Guidelines for Admittance of Excellent Teachers (UFV 2010/1842; revised on 15 May 2012) adopted by the Vice-Chancellor, an Excellent Teacher is one who has attained a high level of teaching expertise that is clearly distinguishable from the basic level, in a manner similar to the distinction between an Associate Professor’s academic skills and those represented by a doctoral degree.
The Faculty of Law has its own Guidelines for granting Excellent Teacher status (JURFAK 2018/43). Teachers employed until further notice at Uppsala University are eligible to apply and can, at any time of year, submit applications to the Faculty Board. The Board takes the decision on the basis of the application, experts’ opinions and the Recruitment Group’s recommendation.
