About associations and bodies for law students

As a law student in Uppsala you can turn to one of the supportive or advisory bodies that are available for students. Another alternative is to become involved with a student association for law students.

The Student Council

The Student Council pursues the students' own issues vis-à-vis the Department. The members are represented in the Faculty and the Department's governing body and have the opportunity to influence various study-related issues. As a student you may contact the Student Council with various issues related to your studies.

The Council is part of the cooperative body JURO (Law Students National Association) which is working towards a good quality law program and also cooperates with Uppsala Student Union's student guardians, as described below.

The student guardians

The student guardians shall work to improve the Law Programme. They are included in various decision-making and preparatory bodies at the university and are to act as intermediaries between the university, the Uppsala Student Union and the students. They also help individual students who have encountered difficulties during their studies, and they are bound by confidentiality.

The office of the student guardians at the Faculty of Law is located at Kvarteret Munken. E-mail: studiebev.jur@us.uu.se and sektion.jur@us.uu.se.
