European Law Moot Court Competition

The European Law Moot Court Competition is a very prestigious court competition, where students author petitions and present their arguments before a panel of judges.

In the competition the contestants get to analyze an imaginary scenario and present arguments for the viewpoints of the parties involved in written pleadings. The 48 best teams in the preliminary written part are called to one of four regional finals where they get to present their arguments orally in a competition trial. The winners of the regional finals meet in a concluding final before the European Court in Luxembourg.

At Uppsala University participation in ELMC is included as part of the advanced course EU Commercial Law and Litigation (30 ECTS), which is offered during the autumn semester. The competition takes place in English and French. Registration for this competition is done through the website, normally by 1 November at the latest.
