Lena Marcusson ny preses vid Kungliga Vetenskapssamhället i Uppsala

Professor emerita i förvaltningsrätt vid Juridiska fakulteten Lena Marcusson har nyligen utsetts till preses, ordförande, i styrelsen vid Kungliga Vetenskapssamhället i Uppsala (KVSU).
KVSU är ett av landets yngsta lärda sällskap och grundades 1954 av professorn i nordiska språk Ivar Modéer som en tvärvetenskaplig mötesplats för forskare från samtliga fakulteter vid Uppsala universitet och Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet. Sällskapet ska främja forskningen inom de ämnen som studeras vid dessa universitet, vilket sker genom föredrag och diskussioner, publicering av vetenskapliga arbeten och utdelande av belöningar och priser.
Professor em. Lena Marcusson, en av Sveriges och Nordens ledande forskare i förvaltningsrätt, har en rad utmärkelser och förtroendeuppdrag på sitt CV. Bland annat kan nämnas att hon var universitetets prorektor 1997-2006, att hon är ledamot i Kungliga Vetenskapsakademin och Kungliga Vetenskapssocieteten samt hedersdoktor vid Lapplands universitet (2012) respektive Åbo akademi (2016). Hon har sedan många år varit aktiv i det nordiska samarbetet inom förvaltningsrätten och i Nordiskt Administrativt Förbund, och har bedrivit en omfattande och samhällsrelevant forskning om bland annat organisationsformer för offentlig förvaltning, principer för handläggning och rättsskyddsgarantier i offentlig förvaltning samt om svensk högre utbildning och forskning i ett rättsligt och komparativt perspektiv.
Lena Marcusson efterträder Sverker Gustavsson, professor emeritus vid Statsvetenskapliga institutionen, som preses i KVSU. Andra tidigare preses i sällskapet har varit bland andra Torgny Segerstedt och professor em. i civilrätt Stig Strömholm, före detta rektorer för Uppsala universitet, varav sistnämnde är hederspreses tillsammans med Sverker Gustavsson.
