Senior lecturer Jonatan Schytzer and lawyer Marek Keller awarded prize by the Foundation Insolvency Law Forum

In connection with the establishment of the Insolvency Law Forum, Jonatan Schytzer was awarded a scholarship for his doctoral thesis "The Origin of Claims in Insolvency Law" by the Foundation Insolvency Law Forum.

The Foundation's Board of Directors decided to award the 2022 Insolvency Law Scholarship to Senior Lecturer Jonatan Schytzer and lawyer Marek Keller for their respective doctoral dissertations "The Origin of Claims in Insolvency Law" and "Bankruptcy and Process" (2020). The prize money amounts to SEK 10,000 each. It can be added that Marek Keller defended his thesis at the Faculty of Law in Uppsala.

The Board's motivation Jonatan Schytzer:
"Questions about the timing of the emergence of different types of claims have in recent years been much debated in both general property law and insolvency law. The methodological disagreement has at times been deep and the tone sometimes high. In his dissertation, Schytzer inventories and evaluates in a mediating way the most important arguments and lines of argumentation in the sphere of insolvency law, while comprehensively analysing their impact in the application of handfuls of key provisions. The dissertation makes valuable contributions to the principled discourse and contributes to deeper understanding in the practical application."

Board's motivation Marek Keller:
"The subject of Keller's dissertation, which lies in the borderland between substantive bankruptcy law, bankruptcy procedural law and general civil procedure law, belongs to the theoretically most complicated and practically difficult to master parts of insolvency law.
