2 June 2023
The Young Academy of Sweden recently welcomed eight prominent researchers from a wide range of disciplines as new members. Yaffa Epstein, Associate Professor of Environmental Law at the Faculty of Law, is one of them.
Yaffa, whose research interests include how scientific terms are used in environmental law and how to better communicate between different scientific disciplines, is looking forward to working with her new colleagues at the academy:
"As an environmental law researcher, my main research interest is how scientific knowledge can be translated into law and policy. I hope to collaborate with colleagues from different disciplines to improve the law's ability to utilise scientific knowledge.”
The Young Academy of Sweden is an interdisciplinary academy for a selection of the best young researchers in Sweden. The Academy is an independent platform that gives young researchers a strong voice in the research policy debate and works to bring research to children and young people. Within the Academy, younger researchers meet across university and subject boundaries.
The academy was established in 2011 on the initiative of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences and has 35-40 members who are elected for five years.
